THERAPISTS
I have a long history working with adults, teens and children who struggle with depression, anxiety, identity and relationship problems. What sets me apart from other therapists is my work in helping men and teens struggling with pornography and problematic sexual behavior, as well as family and partners impacted by these issues.
My approach:
I believe that no one is beyond hope, and by changing the way we tell our stories, we can change the way we see ourselves and the effect we have on the world. I encourage clients to define what wellness looks like for themselves and help them find the path to physical, mental health, relational, and spiritual wellness. I use a variety of techniques including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to change the way that people conceptualize themselves and world around them, correct faulty thinking and to provide new tools for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
My experience and certifications:
I have been a Christian for over 20 years and I love to incorporate my faith into the work I do as a counselor. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #25) with a Master's degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education and 15 years of experience working as a professional counselor. I started my career in Utah with the Utah Network on Juveniles Offending Sexually. After moving to the desert 10 years ago, I worked in substance abuse and sex addiction rehabilitation centers for many years. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and have California Sex Offender Management Board certification (CASOMB). I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Qualified Supervisor and I am currently taking on new interns.
Testimonial:
"Clint has an apt ability to listen combined with a knowledge of how to ask the right questions. Instead of giving cheap answers, he will get you to the heart of a problem. He will give a straightforward answer when it is needed, but he loves asking questions that dig deeper than simple habit adjustment. He will challenge you to ask yourself the tough questions, which has helped me feel confident and equipped for future struggles. While he is always there to help, you can tell Clint's goal is to get you to a place where you have the tools to overcome your own obstacles." - Chris, La Quinta, CA

My approach:
I believe that counseling is an opportunity for a counselor to come alongside someone in their journey by building trust and providing support in a non-judgmental and safe environment. There is healing and recovery from addiction. I've seen tremendous growth in clients as they work through traumatic childhood experiences perpetuated in their adult lives. Using modalities specific to complex trauma, including EMDR, DBT and CBT, we work together to understand clients' trauma, learn new coping skills, and move forward in intimate and connected ways with others. Some have never experienced these types of relationships. I am humbled by the opportunity to help and empower my clients throughout their recovery journey.
My experience and certifications:
I am an Associate Licensed Clinical Counselor (BBS license #6252) and a graduate of the Townsend Institute at Concordia University. Much of my career has been spent working with men struggling with porn addiction, sex addiction, substance abuse, and the fusion of meth and sex. I began my career working with an organization contracted with the state and federal government to offer treatment for sex offenders in California. I then worked for a recovery center providing intensive substance abuse and sex addiction directed therapy for clients. I will complete my Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) training in February 2021 and I have California Management Board certification (CASOMB). Also, I am an EMDR therapist completing additional certification in March 2021.
